I think any kid can benefit from this toy. From toddler to preschooler. My almost 2 year old isn’t autistic and he really likes it. This kept his attention for quite a while. He liked inserting the cards and was cracking up laughing. He hasn’t had it long enough to learn any new words, but that’s the goal. I bought this to expand his vocabulary & help him associate words with images. I really like that this makes the sounds associated with the word. Ex. Lion roars, dog barks, etc. It turns off after a while on its own, which I like, and the cards are fairly sturdy. I supervise play though because I don’t want him to bend the cards up & it took a while for him to figure out which end of the card to insert. It works for a while on one USB charge. I personally like the size & that it fits in the palm of my hand. Doesn’t feel cheap or anything. Packaging is nice. Nothing negative I’ve found yet. Will update if we run into problems.
My 3 year old son has Autism and is non verbal, so I got this toy in hopes for him to get familiar with different sounds and teach him some new words. Although he still hasn’t learned any new words by playing with this, he still loves this toy and engages with it everyday. Would 10/10 recommend for a child with autism or that’s on the spectrum. Even my 2 year old daughter that doesn’t have autism loves to play with it too and she helps him learn a few new words as well so it’s just overall great!
